COUNTY GOVERNMENT ENGAGES FORMER STREET YOUTH TO FACE LIFT GOVERNMENT FACILITIES.

Meru County Deputy Governor Hon. Titus Ntuchiu visited Kaguru Agricultural Training Center to inspect the ongoing paint work to face lift the institution which is being done by youth from the recently graduated class of Meru Youth Service Special Intake of 2021, who were taken from the streets by Governor Kiraitu Murungi and put through training and rehabilitation program at the MYS training center at Igoji. Hon. Ntuchiu was pleased to note that the youth who were formerly considered as poor, useless street children of no value have delivered a great job which would have cost the County Government a lot to give the institute a new look.

The DG said Governor Kiraitu had directed that the youth be engaged to paint and facelift all Government facilities across the County, so they can earn a living and participate in the vision of Making Meru Great.

He reminded the people of Meru that as at now, most Government functions are suspended through the Presidential Directive on covid-19 and the workers are working from home. Once the pandemic is contained and the country is reopened, the Governor and himself, he added, will be back on the ground to interact with the people who are very eager to meet them, as they launch and inspect the many development projects the administration has implemented.
