The DG eulogized late Mzee Thuranira as great leader who contributed immensely to the development of the community.

He called on the people of Meru to promote education and ensure every child attends and completes school, noting that education is the only real empowerment to areas such as Tigania West which does not have any substantive cash crop or other major economic activities.

The DG also noted that Governor Kiraitu Murungi’s Government has done and continues to do everything in addressing the most biting problems faced by the people of Tigania and other arid areas of Meru where borehole water has been provided, as well as recent upgrading of Kianjai market which is the largest in the region.
