Governor Kiraitu launches towns and markets clean up drive dubbed 'NGARISHA MTAA' through the Meru Youth Service empowerment programs. The 5-day exercise involves more than 600 youth engaging in waste collection works, effected through the County's Youth Affairs, Trade and Environment departments collaboration in all major towns and markets across the county.

The program attracts a Ksh. 500 token per individual in a day, and alternated oftenly inorder to have more youth benefit in their respective town or market areas.

Speaking in Mitunguu, Kiraitu stated his government is committed to uplift the lives of people in all social groupings, both the haves and have-not. Already plans to empower small scale business enterprises and over 1000 upcoming artists are underway, in an effort to fight youth unemployment, poverty and hopelessness in the county.

However, the governor asked residents to dodge 'foolish' politics amid the push for BBI, intimating the clumor for constitutional change comes with increased sharable revenue, administrative units which means well for mwananchi, hence the need for its total support.
