MERU COUNTY ASSEMBLY MEMBERS RESOLVE TO WORK TOGETHER UNDER NEW UMBRELLA, REGARDLESS OF PARTY.

54 Members of Meru County Assembly have met under a new political outfit, the Meru Interparty Political Caucus and resolved that they will work together irrespective of party, to support the agenda of Governor Kiraitu Murungi of Making Meru Great.

Speaking after the meeting, Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Victor Karithi said that Meru MCAs will not welcome anyone who is intending to come and divide members of the Assembly based on party politics, adding even President Uhuru Kenyatta has made it clear that over the remaining two years before 2022 elections all efforts must be focused on delivering development and not politics.
While welcoming the new-found unity among the Members of the County Assembly and their resolve to work with him to Make Meru Great, the Governor of Meru County H.E. Kiraitu Murungi said that the resolution comes at the most appropriate time when there is a new momentum in the country as spearheaded by the President himself, for all leadership to focus on completing and delivering quality developments to the people over the next two years.
"We want our people to benefit from our leadership through development as we work closely with the national government led by President Kenyatta and as you have seen, he has dispatched his ministers to our county to fast track and ensure all development projects are completed," said the Governor.
He warned those planning to disrupt the Meru leadership’s development agenda, that such attempts shall not be tolerated.
