Governor Kiraitu continued lobbying for partnerships has attracted Safaricom LTD in the fight against COVID-19 where they presented to the County Government donations including N95 masks, Personal Protective kits and surgical masks as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

Governor Kiraitu in his speech said these will go along way in adding to the medical kits the county Government had already purchased. He also noted the county had created 340 corona isolation beds across the county to ensure adequate preparation against the disease.

Deputy Governor, Titus Ntuchiu said a full medical kit used by health workers are very expensive with one costing 10,000KSh and hence the donations by safaricom would ensure alot is saved to cater for other things.

Jackson Mutua, Safaricom Head of Sales and Operations safaricom mt kenya, Nairobi east and North Eastern said as a major customer base safaricom would extend the partnership with Meru county on all fronts .
