Commercial Bank of Kenya (KCB) represented by Corporate Banking Director Mr Peter Kathang has today issued a cheque worth Ksh 2 million towards the Mt Kenya Run Championship.

The Bank which has been among the greatest partners will also sponsor a corporate team in support of the international annual event, which will be held on February 22nd at KeSAL.

Governor Kiraitu Murungi who spoke while receiving the cheque said that he wants to Make Meru a leading sports and tourism destination and this the event will help in realizing the dream.

"My Government is happy with the continued partnership and we want to deepen and expand the good working relationship," said Kiraitu.

Mr. Kathanga assured Governor Kiraitu of full support in the coming event and those to be held jointly in future. He said that KCB is proud to be associated with such a worthy venture and he is looking forward for more engagements.

The bank has also supported the Rugby 7s and safari rally events that were held in Meru last year and also the ongoing MYS program which has really empowered and transformed the lives of our youth, giving them hope.
