Meru Becomes The First County To Unvail A 20 Year Plan. #MeruVision2040.

During his campaign Governor Kiraitu’s manifesto focused on 14 key promises, where first on the list was the promise to have a visionary leadership and an all-inclusive system of Governance. He promised the people of Meru that his leadership would be accessible to all.

To actualize his number one promise, the Governor established the Meru Economic and Social Council (MESC), a high level think tank and advisory body, which was mandated to come up with Vision 2040, which would guide Meru County to a Prosperous, United and a Happy society

After successful completion of gathering views from residents across the County which included public participation in all sub counties, the team collated all the hopes, aspirations and wishes of the residents into a final document, the Meru Vision 2040. The document was unveiled today in a colorful ceremony, presided over by the European Union Ambassador to Kenya H.E Simon Mordue, Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and Senator Mithika Linturi among other leaders.

Governor Kiraitu Murungi noted that the vision will be implemented through short, medium and long-term plans beginning from financial year 2019/2020.

Amb. Mordue lauded Governor Kiraitu’s administration for keeping the promise of inclusivity saying that the implementation of the vision will have greater impact to the coming generations.
