Meru County To Recognize Heroes Through Street Naming.
Governor Kiraitu Murungi has said that Meru County will from next year recognize all heroes and heroines in Meru County.
Speaking at Kinoru stadium during the mashunjaa day celebration, the Governor noted that the county has enacted the Meru County Honours and Awards Act which will facilitate recognition and conferment of titles the heroes of Meru.
The Governor also directed the Meru Municipal Board to identify two major streets in Meru municipality which will be named General Mwariama and General Baimungi.
Governor Kiraitu pointed out that despite financial problems that the counties are facing his administration will continue to deliver what he promised.
"This year we shall drill more boreholes, open more roads, recruit more Youth to Meru Youth Service, Build the Njuri Ncheke Cultural Center at Nchiru and lay more cabrals in our towns," Murungi said
In his part deputy Governor Hon Titus Ntuchiu added that they will continue to deliver what they promised without interruption from the political noise makers.
He welcomed the leaders who defected from the PNU and promised that they will work with them to make Meru great.
