Meru county has emerged the best in a two-day (16th & 17th, October 2019) regional ball games for Eastern region Vocational Training Centers (VTCs)

The county was rated the best having won 5 out of 7 games. Nkubu VTC soccer men, Githongo men and ladies alike, overwhelmingly won both handball and valleyball in their final tussle for champions

CEC Education Linner Nkirote, who spoke at Kigari TTC during the matches, had expressed a winnig heart, vouching for meruteams to represent the region nationally. She noted the county government to have invested heavily on social and infrastructural development, as well as equipment, to uplift vocational centers which she termed as being pivotal to national big 4 agenda.

Kevin Kimathi, Nkubu VTC football captain, accredited the victory to teamwork, support by the county leadership and most importantly, God.

However, netball ladies and Maua ladies football lost narrowly to Kitui and Machakos counties respectively.
