Chief of Staff Gideon Kimathi has called for a concerted effort in promoting growth of the society.

Kimathi who today, spoke during the funeral service of Charity Kalimbi Kang’ote, the late wife to Meru County's Imenti Central Subcounty Education Officer, Mr. Silas Mungiiria Nyamu, called for unity, and a concerted effort in developing the society, devoid of blame games.

He said Meru and the nation at large can’t be developed by a single person, hence the need for the two tires of government to work together.

CS State Department of Trade, Peter Munya, who was also present, termed unity as a requisite factor to development. He however cautioned a set of legislators who through blames on others for problems whose solutions only remain within their mandate.

CEC Health Misheck Mutuma and her Education colleague, Linner Nkirote emphasized on their departments plans to promote social growth, which Kalimbi championed for.

Various people who spoke at Kithakanaro, South Imenti, eulogized Kalimbi as a social development activist, environmentalist, a mentor, and educationist who was keen to discourage negative cultural practices that hampers education of a girl child.
