County Government has partnered with Surgical Society of Kenya doctors in a 4- day surgical camp dated 26th-29th September, in a bid to help the less fortunate patients get medical attention, at Meru Level V Hospital, Miathene, Nyambene and Kanyakine Level IV Hospitals.

The exercise carried out by over 100 specialists, involve all types of hernias, paediatric, thyroid, prostate, hydrocele, fibroadenomas, lipomas, orthopedic and tendon reconstructive surgeries.

CEC, Mischek Mutuma who visited the camps, thanked the doctors for devoting themselves to the partnership's success.

According to most cases experienced at Nyambene facility, Gastroenterologist, Dr. Mathenge Nduhiu, said were advanced, urging people with suspected growth not to wait long before seeking medical attention.

With a target of 250 major and minor surgeries in the said facilities, over 100 patients were attended to by Saturday 28th, afternoon, those with major surgeries admitted, minor cases treated and discharged.
