Meru Deputy Governor Cautions Residents Against Using Over The Counter Drugs.

Deputy Governor, Titus Ntuchiu has called for professional handling of drugs in all public health facilities for accountability purposes.

Ntuchiu, who spoke at County Headquarters while he flagged off the World’s Pharmacist Day celebration for Meru County, whose theme was "Safe & Effective Medicines For All," urged the people of Meru to avoid drugs from unauthorized dealers who contribute to further health problems.

He intimated the government is keen to ensure there’s adequate drug supply in all public health facilities.

The first time celebration in Meru, coincides with the launch of the Meru County Pharmacy Strategic plan that seeks to develop structures and systems that will strengthen universal health care, foster accountability as well as promote pharmaceuticals investments.

The DG was accompanied by CEC Health Misheck Mutuma, who said the celebration involves also an oversight to ensure there’s no circulation of unrecommend drugs.
