ESTABLISHMENT OF KMTC CAMPUSES WELL ON COURSE, ASSURES HEALTH EXECUTIVE

The County Executive for Health Misheck Mutuma M’Muyuri toured the upcoming Kenya Medical Training College(KMTC) campus in Kanyakine, South Imenti, to assess progress. Mr. Mutuma who was accompanied by the Deputy Principal Mr. Peter Guchu, said that the successful opening of the college which has already admitted students, is a big milestone towards achieving the dream and vision of Governor Kiraitu Murungi to bring the institution closer to the people of South Imenti.
The college has been opened after an agreement that was drawn in 2018 between County Government of Meru led by Governor Kiraitu, and the then Chairman of KMTC Eng. Dr. David Muthoga, which was then reaffirmed by the current Chairman Prof. Phillip Kyalo Kaloki who toured Kanyakine early this year with the Senior Management of KMTC, accompanied by Chief of Staff Hon. Gideon Kimathi who had represented the Governor. Prof. Kaloki who also toured other KMTC Campuses that have been negotiated by the Governor in Miathene and Nyambene Level 4 Hospitals, had assured that they would ensure Kanyakine has become operational by September this year.
Mr. Misheck Mutuma reiterated that Governor Kiraitu’s administration is working closely with KMTC management to see that the other colleges, KMTC Miathene Level 4 Hospital Campus in Tigania West and Nyambene Level 4 Hospital Campus in Igembe South, are also opened and operationalized in line with the set timelines.
