CEC Education, Linner Nkirote has expressed the County government's commitment to support vocational education.
This comes when the department has started capacity building trainings for VTC instructors and managers in order to help improve modes of service delivery, relationships and performance of trainees.
While at Kianjai Vocational Training Center (VTC) where she officiated the said training today, Nkirote intimated that vocational skills are key in actualization of the Vision to make Meru great.
She added the government is paying part of the exam fees for the 2nd years in all the centers as this relieves the less fortunate from the struggles they go through in their final year. The department also considers absorbing some of the MYS recruits in some VTCs.
On his part, Education CO Haron Kanathi said the training was just a start up and this will be continued at least every term. This was also echoed by VTC Director Gladys Ngare who said the training had 100% turn up, with over 250 instructors from 30 VTCs attending.
Kiamakoro Manager, Sammy Mwirigi as well as Fridah Nkirote, an Instructor, thanked the County leadership for such an opportunity which they termed as being not only educative but also socially important.
