The intervention from the County Government came about following the request from Sister Catherine of Laare Parish, who heads MLO, a group that has over the years, helped the society deal with the jigger menace, de-worm and integrate disabled children into the society among other things.

Speaking at Laare, the CEC thanked the residents for notifying the County Government on issues that needed intervention and promised the Government’s continued support to deal with all issues pertaining to them. "The Governor is committed to ensure every single resident of Meru County has access to quality medical services. So do not shy away from getting the help you need." He went on to urge those present to allow the administration time to work without unnecessary interference.
