COUNTY COMMITTED TO HUDUMA NUMBER.

Deputy Governor Hon Titus Ntuchiu has reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to support the ongoing Huduma Namba
registration exercise.
The DG pointed out that the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) will relieve Meru People and Kenya at large, from the burden of carrying numerous identification documents such as driving license, National ID card, NHIF, NSSF, etc., by integrating them into a single ID number.
"As the County Government we are working very closely with the National Government in all sectors including this exercise, where we are in full support and as such, I ask all our Meru people to come out and register so that they can be issued with the Huduma Namba," Ntuchiu noted.
On development, the Deputy Governor said that Governor Kiraitu’s administration will continue to deliver the promises he made to Meru residents during the campaign, adding that as a government they will refrain from engaging into any political rhetoric that some competitors hope to draw them into.
The DG was speaking in Maua, Igembe South Sub County where, accompanied by Chief of Staff Hon. Gideon Kimathi, he joined the former vice president, Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka who officially launched Huduma namba registration exercise in Meru County. He pointed out that many of the development Projects by the County Government are already being felt by Mwananchi on the ground, and promised that they are committed to deliver more.
On his part, Hon. Kalonzo urged Meru resident to come out in large numbers and participate in the exercise, promising that the Huduma Namba will be of immense importance to both the government as well as the Mwananchi, for ease and efficiency of service delivery.
"Huduma Namba is a genuine exercise and it has nothing to do with the satanic number 666, which is a lie that is being peddled by some people. I am a Christian and I can confidently confirm that and, therefore, let us embrace it for our own good. As you have noticed, we all both in Jubilee and opposition, are speaking in one language regarding this exercise, and I want to confirm, that it is part of the Vision 2030," he said.
"This special identification, will make the Country more secure, by weeding out criminals and other ill intentioned people who use fake identity cards to enter our border points," Hon. Musyoka added.
Meru County Commissioner Mr. Allan Machari said that in Meru only 48% have registered so far, and urged the resident to take the exercise more seriously and register in large numbers.
