CHIEF OF STAFF TOURS ROAD WORKS TO ASSESS QUALITY.

The County Government of Meru under the leadership of H.E. Governor Kiraitu Murungi, is committed to deliver quality development to the people. Chief of Staff Hon. Gideon Kimathi, said that County Government engineers and Quality Assurance Officers have been instructed to ensure that the works delivered to the people are up to standards.
Hon. Kimathi made the remarks when he met St. Mercy Women Group on a tour of the ongoing upgrade of Gikurune-Gitine Road in Igoji East Ward. He prevailed upon the contractor on site to ensure the road, which will serve to connect about ten public institutions to the main Meru-Embu-Nairoby Highway, is promptly completed and ready for use by residents. He noted that the County Government is committed to upgrade other roads in the area to enable residents transport their agricultural produce with ease.
He encouraged women to form more groups and remain organized to reap benefits such as County Government facilitated trainings on financial literacy as well as various loans and other financing products available through the County Microfinance and National Government Women Enterprise Fund. The County Government targets this, he added, as one of the quickest ways to empower and uplift Meru County women.
The Chief of Staff was accompanied during the tour, by Igoji East MCA Hon. Kireeria Mwobobia, who said he was happy with the progress of the project, and thanked the Governor for funding it outside Ward Development Fund. The two leaders were also joined in the tour by Political Commentator and Activist, Praise Edwin alias Kiongozi
