Governor Kiraitu has said that the paving of Maua Market to Cabro standards will start next week, adding that his dream for clean towns is intact and that he is working to ensure all towns are properly managed, with enough lighting and improved security, to promote a 24 hour economy.
Speaking at St. John the Baptist Maua Catholic Church in a fundraiser for the construction of perimeter wall, the Governor said he want to make a positive difference in the lives of the people by ensuring there's equity in development, for all parts of Meru, which the people will use to rate him come 2022.
In this regard, Kiraitu said all Meru leaders will be remembered for the good they do to the people, praising Mr. Kalwego for giving the people of South Imenti three divisions; Igoji, Nkuene and Abogeta, when he was Minister in charge of Security during the Nyayo regime.
He urged the church in Meru to commit the county in prayers for peace and unity among the leadership
Deputy Governor, Titus Ntuchiu, highlighted that Kiraitu operates in an open door policy and this won't be closed over personal interests of a few political shenanigans blackmailing the Government. He said the MCAs are key witness to development done in the Ward. As the CEC Finance, he noted public resources must be protected and prudently used.
He said County leadership will ensure all parts of Meru have equal development. Interms of human capital, Ntuchiu said every Sub county is represented in the executive, while other positions are equally distributed across the County. Of the 100 boreholes for instance, he was specific that majority (42), were sunk in Igembe region, 30 in Tigania and 28 in Imenti.
Senator Linturi who was also present, emphasized that no development can happen in a noisy environment, asserting that no one will loose focus because of the idle minds that want to derail development for the people of Meru.
More than 10 MCAs who accompanied the Governor, pressed that the oversight role to the executive can only be played by the Senator and County Assembly. The team said this in retaliation to the irresponsible political gimmick skiddled by EALA MP Mpuru Aburi, terming them a political mischief.
They asked the Governor not to consider individual interests but continue the move to protect the interest of the people of Meru.
Area DCC James Kosgei, said it was impressive working with the Governor and development coordination committees. He further urged the people to register for Huduma Number which will enhance service delivery. The program will be rolled out on 2nd April.
