OUR FOCUS IS ON DEVELOPMENT AND NOT POLITICS CHIEF OF STAFF
Chief of staff Mr Gedion Kimathi has said that the County Government is focusing to deliver on the promises it gave to Meru residents during the campaign.
He maintained that Governor Kiraitu's administration is Keen delivering on its promises and working to ensure that the dream of making Meru great becomes a reality.
" We know their few people outside there who are trying to divert our attention so that we can move from development to politics, I want to tell them that will not happen under the leadership of Governor kiraitu," Kimathi noted.
The chief of staff said that this financial year they will recruit another 1000 Youths to MYS, drill 100 more boreholes, and introduce Meru Care Card which will enable the residents to access healthcare in all public hospitals with an annual fee of only Ksh200 per family among other key projects.
Mr Kimathi also urged Meru residents to plant as many trees as possible during this rainy season. he added that the County Government has a beautification program to plant trees along the highways. The program will be launched next week by the Governor.
On lazy contractors, the Chief of staff said that they will blacklist their companies so as not to get tenders with the County Government again.
His sentiment was echoed by Abogeta East Ward MCA Mr Mwirigi Karinga who said that all elected leaders should show the projects that they are doing with the money they get from National and County Governments. " We as MCAs we are given Ksh 20 million every year by the Governor, MPs are given around 100 million and women reps are allocated Ksh 7 million for every constituency we want to know how each has spent the money," Mwirigi added.
