Meru County Football team has romped into the quarterfinals of the ongoing KICOSCA games after seeing off Siaya County team 7-6 in the penalty shootouts. Meru is the only County in Mt. Kenya region to have qualified for the quarterfinals.

The team had earlier whipped Kilifi County 3-1 to set the stage for the quarterfinal match scheduled for tomorrow at Kisii High school.

The CEC Sports Mr Daniel Kiogora shortly after the game, expressed his delight on the team's unlimited determination and assured them of his support.

The Meru and Siaya teams tussled to the 90th minute, to the extra 10 minute time without a goal and closing up with penalties, giving Meru County 7 goals against 6 goals of their opponents.

The exuberant Meru team also expressed their joy and optimism noting that they are determined to win the year's KICOSCA games.
