Ex Governor Peter Munya To Withdraw Election Petition
On Monday, former governor Peter Munya's lawyers, under his instructions, have asked the court to be allowed until the 4th of December 2017 to formally withdraw a petition filed at the court challenging the election of Kiraitu Murungi as Meru governor in the August polls. The two addressed members of the public at Meru Law Courts after the hearing of the case. ''I also wish to ask my brother Mugambi Imanyara to follow Munya's example and withdraw his petition against Meru Senator Mithika Linturi to allow Meru people the opportunity to proceed from this negative political impasse. Munya said he had heeded to the request made by President Kenyatta during his last campaign tour in Meru. Kenyatta had promised to give Munya a job at National Government after his re-lection
