Muthara Ward is witnessing steady transformation under the leadership of H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia, with strategic investments in roads and healthcare delivering tangible benefits to residents and communities across the ward.

During his development tour of Muthara Ward, H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia inspected ongoing road works aimed at opening up the ward, improving connectivity and unlocking economic opportunities. Better roads are making it easier for residents to access markets, schools, healthcare facilities and other essential services, while supporting trade and local economic activity.

In healthcare, the Governor witnessed a major milestone with the commissioning of the first-ever theatre at Muthara Sub-County Hospital. Since commencing operations on 24 August 2025, the facility has supported 338 safe deliveries, bringing critical surgical and maternal healthcare services closer to families and reducing the need for residents to travel long distances for specialised care.

The County Government is also strengthening Muthara Sub-County Hospital through the deployment of additional healthcare providers, ensuring that modern infrastructure is supported by adequate personnel and specialised expertise.

At Lailuba Health Centre, H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia commissioned a new maternity wing, expanding access to safe, dignified and quality maternal and newborn care for mothers in Lailuba and neighbouring communities.

The development tour also provided an opportunity for the Governor to engage directly with residents, listen to their concerns and identify priority areas requiring government intervention. This direct engagement reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring that development responds to the real needs of the people.
