Meru County Shines At The 4th Jamhuri Awards.

Meru County shone brightly at the 4th Edition of the Jamhuri Awards, a night that celebrated leadership, service, and the remarkable spirit of our people. It was an evening where Meru truly stood out, reaffirming that hard work and dedication continue to drive our county forward.
Jenaro Gatangugi, CECM for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, received the prestigious Most Outstanding Excellence & Impact CECM Award. His recognition reflected years of close engagement with farmers and steadfast efforts to strengthen Meru’s food systems. In one of the most touching moments of the night, he dedicated the award to H.E. Hon. Rev. Mutuma M’Ethingia for providing a supportive working environment, and to his entire department for their tireless effort and shared commitment to excellence.
Hon. Martin Koome Makasi was celebrated as the Most Outstanding MCA in Meru County for his strong community-centered leadership.
Hon. Aurelio Murangiri earned the title Most Outstanding MCA in Social & Community Development and ranked among the Top Three in the Eastern Region for his commitment to uplifting communities.
Hon. Julius Miriti Kaimbo was honored as the Best Performing MCA in Meru County, recognized for his consistent development record and close engagement with residents.
In his remarks, Jenaro Gatangugi praised Governor Mutuma for fostering unity among leaders-a unity he noted has brought renewed progress and recognition to Meru. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing food security, expanding hybrid seed distribution, strengthening livestock vaccination programs, and empowering farming households across the county.
