Meru County Government Partners With KEPROBA To Boost Trade, Investment, And Cooperative Growth.

Meru County remains open and ready to collaborate with investors and development partners dedicated to driving growth and innovation. Hon. Rev. Mutuma M’Ethingia, Governor of Meru County, engaged with a delegation from the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) led by Austine Macheso. KEPROBA is a key partner in promoting exports across critical value chains such as potatoes, macadamia, avocados, bananas, tea, coffee, and horticultural produce. Recognizing Meru’s vast potential, particularly through its more than 470 active cooperatives, the KEPROBA team is currently undertaking a multi-faceted mission within the county. Their activities include training local SMEs on branding and marketing, profiling Meru as a leading hub for trade, and identifying new business opportunities. The mission also involves stakeholder engagements aimed at mapping interventions and assessing needs within the local trade ecosystem. This significant initiative, which positions Meru as the second county to benefit after Kwale, will culminate in the production of a documentary resource. The film will serve as a powerful tool to market Meru as a premier destination for trade, investment, and cooperative growth. Governor Mutuma was joined during this strategic engagement by Deputy Governor H.E. Lindah Kiome, Chief of Staff Dr. Julius Mbijiwe, CECM for Trade, Tourism and Cooperatives Rev. Caroline Karea Kaberia, and Chief Officer for Trade, Tourism and Cooperatives Mugambi Sandi, alongside the technical team. #BuildingMeruTogether #TujengeMeruPamoja
