Driving Sustainable Economic Growth In Meru County Through Peace And Strategic Partnerships
Governor of Meru County, H.E. Hon. Rev. Mutuma M’Ethingia has affirmed that the prevailing peace in Meru County has created a highly conducive environment for business, attracting back investors, visitors, and key business partners. He noted that the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) is already rolling out flagship projects such as the Jiinue Growth Program (JGP) as part of the county’s wider economic revitalization efforts.
The Governor emphasized that Meru, blessed with fertile soils, offers vast opportunities in agricultural value chains including bananas, avocados, miraa, tea, coffee, and macadamia. He reiterated that the collaboration with KNCCI remains key in unlocking more potential in agritech, waste management, and green energy - particularly solar and wind.
In addition, the Governor highlighted the growing prospects in the hospitality sector and wastewater recycling, stating that his administration remains fully committed to identifying these opportunities and fostering strategic partnerships that support the county’s economic agenda. These efforts aim at driving prosperity and sustainable growth for the people of Meru County.
The remarks follow a courtesy visit by the KNCCI delegation led by President Dr. Erick Ruto and the Meru Chapter Chairman, Mr. Joshua Kirimi.
