Restoring Peace, Protecting Lives: Governor Mutuma Steps Up Security In Northern Grazing Zone.

H.E. Hon. Rev. Mutuma M'Ethingia, has called for an immediate end to the ongoing insecurity in the Northern Grazing Zone, which continues to be plagued by rampant cattle rustling, destruction of property, and the tragic loss of lives. He emphasized that this unacceptable situation requires urgent and decisive action from all leaders to restore peace and stability. The Governor noted that the security situation in Ndumuru, Igembe North, remains deeply concerning and urged for joint efforts to protect residents and defend their property from escalating threats.

While visiting Ndumuru Police Station, the Governor handed over two Land Cruisers and a camp to support the 40 National Police Reservists (NPR) currently stationed at Ndumuru market. He highlighted that the expected deployment of additional NPR officers is a vital step toward improving security in the region. To further support law enforcement, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing a tailored health policy under the Social Health Authority (SHA) to enhance the welfare and operational efficiency of the officers.

During the visit, the Deputy Governor, H.E. Hon. Lindah Kiome, underscored the importance of ensuring all children receive vaccinations, stating that immunization remains a key pillar in safeguarding public health.

The Governor was accompanied by Igembe North Member of Parliament Hon. Taitum Julius, Igembe Central Member of Parliament Hon. Dan Kiili and Members of the County Assembly led by Deputy Speaker Hon. Mwenda Ali and the area MCA Hon. Fredrick Mburugu.
