NATIONAL GOVERNMENT PSs VISIT MERU FOR KEY INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE.

Meru county governor H.E Rev. Mutuma M'Ethingia and deputy governor H.E Hon Lindah Kiome hosted the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Dr. Patrick Mariru, and his counterpart from the State Department for Sports, Mr. Elijah Mwangi, during a high-level courtesy call to the Office of the Governor. The visit is part of a strategic national-county collaboration aimed at strengthening healthcare and sports infrastructure within the region.

The visit included a comprehensive site assessment of the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital (MeTRH), which is earmarked for critical upgrades in preparation for its anticipated elevation to a Level 6 facility. This milestone development is set to significantly transform healthcare delivery in Meru and the larger Mt. Kenya region.

At the same time, PS Elijah Mwangi undertook an inspection of Kinoru Stadium to assess the current state of the facility, with a view to initiating extensive improvements. This is in readiness for the official handover of the stadium to the County Government of Meru, marking a major step in advancing sports and talent development.
