MERU COUNTY GOVERNOR H.E. HON. REV. ISAAC MUTUMA M'ETHINGIA LEADS MERU IN CELEBRATING MADARAKA DAY WITH A CALL FOR UNITY, PEACE AND PROGRESS.

Meru Governor H.E. Hon. Rev. Mutuma M'Ethingia joined the people of Meru in celebrating the spirit of freedom, self-governance, and the resilience of our great nation at Maili Tatu Stadium, Igembe Central sub-county.

As Meru joined the nation in commemorating the 62nd Madaraka Day, Meru Governor H.E. Hon. Rev. Mutuma M’Ethingia emphasized that this occasion is more than a historical milestone it is a celebration of unity, resilience, and the shared journey of the Kenyan people. He noted that Madaraka Day symbolizes the moment when Kenyans took charge of their destiny, and it continues to inspire reflection on the sacrifices made and the collective strength drawn from a common purpose.

Governor M’Ethingia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more inclusive, cohesive, and equitable Meru County. He stated that, step by step, the county government is working to fulfill the aspirations of the nation’s forefathers who envisioned a self-governed, free, just, and progressive country. Their legacy, he added, continues to inspire the drive to redress past injustices and to create a future where every citizen has a voice and a stake in the county’s progress.

Governor Mutuma M'Ethingia also emphasized that unity, peace and progress must continue to guide the county and the nation as as whole.

The Governor was joined by Deputy Governor H.E. Lindah Kiome Gitonga, Meru County Commissioner Jacob Ouma, Area MP Hon. Dan Kiili, Nominated MP Hon. Dorothy Muthoni Ikiara, Former Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture Hon. Mithika Linturi, Meru Women Representative Hon. Kailemia Elizabeth Karambu, CECMs, and Members of the Meru County Assembly led by Speaker Hon. Ayub Bundi, among other dignitaries.
