The County Government of Meru with the approval of H.E Governor Bishop Kawira Mwangaza, The Chairman and Board of Directors MCRB hereby gives notice to all Land Rates defaulters that 100% interest sums outstanding as at 24th May, 2023 have been waived on the following conditions:

That the Rate payer clears in full the total principal land rates arrears.

All Land Rate defaulters are hereby WARNED that upon failure to pay, legal consequences will be instituted which include but are not limited to: -

I. Compel Land Rates defaulter’s tenants to pay directly to the County Government until the Land Rates and interest/penalties are fully paid.

2. Cancel or withdraw any license/permit granted in the premises in which Land Rates have not been paid.

3. Withhold any development approval until full payment of Land rates is received for the said Land.

4. Charge the property over unpaid rates plus interest until the full amount is cleared.

5. Forward to Professional Debt Collectors and Lawyers to recover Rates arrears thus increasing Cost and Risk.

6. Deny all other services offered by the county Government of Meru.

All payments should be made through our County Revenue Collection A/C held at Cooperative Bank Meru Branch or Kenya Commercial Bank Meru branch . CO-OP BANK ACCOUNT No:01141418507201, KCB Bank Account no: 1140746316

Concerned property owners should make payments upon obtaining Bills/invoice from their respective Sub County Revenue Offices and forward the banking slips for issuance of an official receipt within the waiver period. Kindly comply.

NB: Failure to present the banking slip for receipting immediately after payment will not relieve the obligation to pay late payment penalties where applicable. Pay your land rates in time for efficient service delivery and development of our County.
