It is a great day for Meru County. This afternoon H.E Governor Bsp. Kawira Mwangaza witnessed as all 14 of her nominees for the positions of County Chief Officers and County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) took oath of office after unanimous approval by the County Assembly of Meru.

This highly skilled and experienced team will be very instrumental in supporting her to steer her development agenda with an aim of achieving sustainable progress in Meru county. H.E the Governor conveyed special gratitude to the County Assembly for assessing the suitability of her nominees and approving them.

The Governor congratulated the nominees who are now substantive holders of their respective offices. Governor Kawira assured that this is just the beginning of a journey to ensure multi-sectoral development. With a full team behind her, she promised to deliver all her promises with transparency and accountability.

The following officers have been sworn into office as CECMs:

1. Ibrahim Mutwiri Kirimi - CEC for Roads, Energy and Public Works
2. Dr. Yusuf Kithure - CEC for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development
3. Benjamin Kinyanga Mungania - CEC for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries
4. Dr. Faith Mwende Mutegi - CEC for Youth Affairs, Social Development and Sports
5. Dr. George Gikunda Mungania - CEC for Health Services
6. Eng. Jackson Muthamia - CEC for Water, Irrigation, Environment and Climate Change
7. Harriet Makena Kiambati - CEC for Trade, Tourism and Cooperatives.

The following officers have been sworn into office as chief officers:

1. Kaaria Joyce Kagwiria as Chief Officer of Education
2. James Mutia as Chief Officer of Public Service Administration and Management
3. Akwalu Victor Mugambi as Chief Officer of Agriculture, livestock and Fisheries
4. Martin Gitije as Chief Officer of lands and physical planning
5. Dr. Joseph Wahome as Chief Officer of Health Services
6. George Kimathi as Chief Officer of Water and Irrigation
7. Charles Mwenda as Chief Officer of Finance and Economic Planning.
