Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, joins President William Ruto at Statehouse, as he flagged off a consignment of relief food to be distributed to various parts of the country including parts of Meru adversely hit by hunger.

The governor had earlier on joined her colleagues from counties affected by drought, to discuss immediate intervention and measures that will help save lives, in a meeting chaired by the

Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, at his office Harambee House Annex.

Governor Kawira called upon the two tiers of Governments and partners to do everything possible to help avert a looming famine, which also threatens almost the whole country.

She went on to urge the Meru County partners also include, but not limited to, religious sector,the business community and well wishers, to hearken to the call and team up to provide immediate support and relief to the most affected areas in Meru.

She also called for a collective stakeholder support in mitigating climate change in the region.
