Governor Kawira Mwangaza has led an inspection visit for all county vehicles and Verification exercise of Drivers to weed out illegalities in the Department of Transport.

Addressing the drivers, Governor Kawira said the exercise was meant to ensure every driver is assigned a vehicle and a Comprehensive insurance cover for each respective vehicle.

She was shocked despite some drivers working for over 10 years some have never gotten a salary increment, tasking the County Public service Board to explain the criteria used for promotion.

She also requested a report on serviceable and non serviceable vehicles to ensure the government does not waste money once repairing process starts.

The process will also ascertain why some drivers have been at home for years and why the government continued to hiring new drivers, some who came later with salaries higher than the former.
