County Second Lady Offers Civic Education To Pdws As Country Heads Into Elections.
Meru County Second Lady Madam Lucy Ntuchiu today met and engaged groups of PDW members from across Kianjai Ward at Kianjai Police Post grounds where she discussed various issues pertaining choice of good leaders especially in regard to the upcoming August general elections. She also distributed foodstuffs and dignity kits to ladies among PDW members in the groups.
She was accompanied by various women leaders from Tigania region including spouse to Bus Party aspirant for MP in Tigania West Dr. Kilemi Mwiria, Dr. Sarah Kilemi and Bus Party County Women MP aspirant Felicity Nkirote Biriri.
Madam Ntuchiu noted that it is critical to give civic education to all Meru residents so that they can make informed decisions as they go to elect leaders. She added that this electioneering period will see emergence of politicians of all spheres of character, morality and even persuasions, who will peddle all manner of propaganda, promises, outright lies and even misinformation in a bid to get elected to office.
"It is, therefore, imperative that our people be equipped with sufficient and right knowledge and information so that they can vote in leaders who will continue to transform lives and move our County in the right direction," Madam Ntuchiu observed.
She noted that the County leadership under Governor Kiraitu Murungi and his Deputy Titus Ntuchiu has done a lot towards improving lives of PWDs, and urged Meru people to re-elect them back into office so that they can continue this good work.
She also met and engaged senior citizen menfolk from across Kianjai who are retired officers but continue to offer guidance to the younger generations, and who have since registered their own CBO named KIMAMUNA(Kianjai, Machaku, Mutionjuuri and Nairiri) Elders
