Deputy Governors Spouse Impresses On Women To Join The Empowerment Program
The spouse to Meru County Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu, Madam Lucy Ntuchiu met with the faithful of MCK Church from churches across Uringu Circuit in Miathene Synod, at MCK Ntugi Church in Nkomo Ward Tigania West, during today’s Sunday service.
Later on after the service Madam Ntuchiu held an interactive session during a mini-fundraiser for church development, where she explained the ongoing delivery of massive, transformative development agenda by the County Government of Meru under the leadership of Governor Kiraitu Murungi and his Deputy Titus Ntuchiu in line with the pledges made during the Campaigns, even as next year’s general elections draw near.
"Various projects and programs in roads, water, health, education, agriculture and other sectors have been successfully delivered and can be witnessed in all the Wards of our County," she noted.
She added that of prominence, is the Twaweza Women Empowerment Program which is an initiative of the County First Lady Madam Priscilla Murungi, through which women groups across the County continue to be financed in table banking and to be educated on financial discipline/literacy, management and entrepreneurship, as well as other areas to ensure the women of Meru are given visibility in political, economic, social and cultural development of the County, as envisaged in the vision of Making Meru Great.
She encouraged women from the MCK Church and other faiths, to take advantage of the initiative and apply for finances and other local programs in Twaweza, so that they are not left behind.
Madam Ntuchiu observed that empowering and enlightening the woman is key to uplifting the entire society because it transcends the empowerment of a single individual to families and consequently, the whole society.
