H.E. Governor Mutuma MEthingia Transforms ECDE Education In County Meru
H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia is championing a new chapter for early childhood education in Meru.
For over a decade, ECDE teachers in Meru remained on the same salaries, with little recognition for their experience and dedication. Today, that changes. Under the leadership of H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia, the County Government has introduced the ECDE Teachers’ Scheme of Service, a transformative step that guarantees career progression, fair remuneration, and dignity for educators shaping the county’s youngest learners.
At the same time, more than 700 ECDE centres across the county are benefiting from the School Meals and Nutrition Program, ensuring that children learn in class while well fed and ready to focus. To further strengthen foundational learning, the county has also begun distributing Mathematical Activity Books aimed at improving numeracy skills and problem-solving abilities from the earliest stages of education.
By investing in teachers, feeding learners, and equipping classrooms, the County Government of Meru is laying a strong foundation for the next generation and building a brighter future for the region.
