CONNECTING COMMUNITIES: NEW BRIDGE COMMISSIONED IN KARAMA WARD TO DRIVE LOCAL GROWTH
H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia today commissioned a new bridge in Karama Ward, Tigania East Sub-County, as part of the County Government’s ongoing commitment to opening up underserved areas and promoting inclusive development.
The project, implemented under the Equalisation Fund, which is dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities, will significantly strengthen connectivity in the area by removing long-standing barriers to movement. The new bridge is expected to ease daily travel, improve access to markets and essential services, and unlock new opportunities for local economic growth.
During the visit, H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia and his team engaged with members of the community to discuss key issues affecting the area. The discussions focused on prevailing security concerns, particularly cattle theft and land grabbing, as well as the urgent need to upgrade local health facilities and fast-track the issuance of title deeds critical steps towards sustainable development and long-term community stability.
The Governor was accompanied by H.E. Lindah Kiome, Deputy Governor; Dr. Julius Mbijiwe, Chief of Staff; Moses Baiyenia, Ag. Director, Health Administration; and Hon. James Mugambi, MCA, Karama Ward.
