BRINGING LIFE AND HOPE TO MUTHARA: KANDEBENE BOREHOLE COMPLETE AND READY FOR USE
H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia has expressed his satisfaction following the successful completion of the Kandebene Borehole at Mweromalia Comprehensive School in Muthara Ward, Tigania East.
The project, implemented under the Equalization Fund-an initiative aimed at uplifting marginalized communities-demonstrates the County Government’s commitment to closing development gaps and ensuring equitable access to essential services. The borehole marks an end to long and exhausting journeys in search of water and ushers in a new chapter of improved health, dignity, and productivity for the people of Muthara.
With clean and reliable water now available to the school and the surrounding households, learners can concentrate on their studies, while families gain a vital resource that supports daily life and sustainable livelihoods.
Beyond the borehole project, H.E. Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia also led engagements with local leaders and residents to discuss other priority needs within the community. The County Government is taking decisive steps to enhance security through improved area lighting and the opening of security roads, while addressing challenges related to elephant encroachment and camel intrusion. Plans are also underway to improve road infrastructure, establish a maternity facility, and strengthen the ECDE feeding programme to promote inclusive and holistic development.
The Governor was accompanied by Deputy Governor H.E. Lindah Kiome; Dr. Julius Mbijiwe, Chief of Staff; CPA Kathono Monica, CECM Finance, Economic Planning and ICT; Hon. Elias Murega, CECM Youths, Sports, Gender and Social Services; Hon. Aurelio Murangiri, MCA Muthara Ward; and Hon. Jim Muchui, MCA Athwana Ward.
