Enhancing Access Roads And Empowering Youth In Meru.
Updated on: Sep 25, 2024
Meru Youth Service, in collaboration with the County Government of Meru and Community Road Empowerment (CORE), is working to enhance access roads in Majengo, Mjini, and Gitimbine. This initiative not only aims to improve transportation to schools, hospitals, and markets for underserved communities but also focuses on creating job opportunities and skills development for young people.
To date, the project has supported 130 MYS alumni in plumbing, building/construction, and first aid. Additionally, over a thousand youths in the project areas have benefited from these efforts. This initiative is funded by the Government of Japan through the Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) and the World Bank, with implementation by CORE.
