Meru County Government Successfully Hosts The 3rd Edition Of The Mt Kenya Mountain Running Championships
The Meru County Government successfully hosted the 3rd Edition of the Mt Kenya Mountain Running Championships. The run, organized by Athletics Kenya, attracted participants from across the globe and aimed to raise awareness of Meru's high cancer prevalence and promote environmental conservation.
The run featured four heats: 2km, 6km, 8km, and 13km, and saw over a thousand participants taking part. The event was flanked by Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Deputy Governor Rev Mutuma M'Ethingia, and the Meru County Speaker, Ayub Bundi, among other MCAs.

The event offered a unique opportunity for the public to enjoy the scenic route around the once-restricted Mt Kenya Forest, promoting sports tourism in the county.
