Governor Kawira Receives Goodies From Polish Ambassador.

Meru Governor Hon. bishop Kawira Mwangaza has welcomed the Polish ambassador to Kenya Ambassador Jacek Baza?ski when he paid her a courtesy visit this morning. They discussed sectors of possible cooperation between Poland and Meru County among them; value addition of agricultural products, trade, education and social development.

Later on, they proceeded to the Meru Fire Station where they opened the newly refurbished fire and rescue station's residential quarters. This was co-financed by the county government of Meru and Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the Polish Development Co-operation framework.

The governor also received various donations in form of equipment that will ease effective execution of fire fighting duties. Further, courtesy of a partnership with Chief Fire Officers Association of Kenya (CFOA), the county government of Meru will be able to acquire appropriate safety gear to enable fire fighters put out fires of various degrees without sustaining personal harm or losing life.

Governor Kawira assured ambassador Baza?ski that Meru County will be a success story because it will prudently utilize every single coin that lands in its coffers because accountability is a key pillar of her government. She appreciated Poland's partnership with Meru County and welcomed them to further enhance the collaboration.
